Day 1 - Negombo

On arrival, you will be met by a Chauffeur Guide of Tour Driver Sri Lanka who will offer assistance. Thereafter transfer and check-in to your hotel in Negombo.

Spend the evening relaxing by the beach.

Negombo Beach - Negombo is the perfect location for a beach holiday just before you set off to explore the rest of Sri Lanka or just before the end of your holiday in Sri Lanka. 

Day 2 - Sigiriya

After breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya - the city of the lion rock. En route, you have the option of visiting the Millennium Elephant Foundation in Pinnawala. After a drive of almost four hours, settle in at your resort and unwind.

Overnight in Sigiriya.

Sigiriya - Sigiriya is a world heritage site and should be in the list of must-see places in Sri Lanka. A palace. A rock fortress. The hidden castle of King Kasyapa. It is one of the 7 world heritage sites in Sri Lanka and is one of it’s most popular tourist destinations.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage –  See baby jumbos wondering around their cramped foster home or bottle fed and bathed by their human foster fathers at Pinnawala, about 90Km from Colombo towards Kandy is the home to some 100 or more elephant orphans. The primary purpose of the orphanage has been to provide a lifeline to the orphaned baby elephants and adult elephants lost in the wilderness.

Day 3 - Polonnaruwa

Take a half-day tour of the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site, which majestically portrays Sri Lanka’s grand past. If you’re feeling up to it, take a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park to see the majestic giants of the wild in their natural habitat, feeding, bathing and meeting other elephants.

Overnight in Sigiriya.

Polonnaruwa Vatadage - The Polonnaruwa Vatadage is an ancient structure dating back to the Polonnaruwa period of Sri Lanka. Its outermost terrace is 18m in diameter, and the second terrace has four entrances flanked by particularly fine guardstones.

Nissanka Lata Mandapaya in Polonnaruwa - Nissanka Latha Mandapaya is a masterpiece of the highest order. The dagoba is encircled by curved stone pillars shaped like lotus stalks, topped by unopened buds.

Gal Potha (Stone Book) in Polonnaruwa - The Gal Potha which is found in close proximity to the Sath Mahal Prasadaya has been at the centre of attention for centuries. This Stone book is consists of three main sections a, 26 feet and 10 inch in length and 4 feet and 7 inch in width.

Gal Viharaya in Polonnaruwa - The Viharaya contains four Buddha statues, which have been carved on solid granite stone depicting irresistible sublimity. The Gal Vihara sculptures, each different in design, are undoubtedly  the most perfect specimen of Buddha statues hewn out of solid granite in Sri Lanka. 

Minneriya Safari - Your safari will start at 5:30 am if you choose the Morning Safari options. Nature lovers on Minneriya Jeep Safari often spot large number of Sri Lankan Elephants gathering around to grass fields on the edges of the reservoir during the dry season.

Day 4 - Matale

Thereafter visit the spice gardens in Matale en route to Kandy - a glorious ancient city. If interested, feel free to purchase some of these spices that bring out the gusto of Sri Lankan cuisine. Check-in to your hotel in Kandy and spend the evening at leisure.

Spice Garden Matale -  A spice garden in Matale to see many different types of spices Sri Lanka is famous for. Gardens are open to visitors, a delightful place to stroll in fragrant greenery and learn about nutmeg, pepper vines, clove trees and curry, cinnamon and the precious cardamom, a relative of ginger. A processing and training unit has been set up in the area and farmers are grouped in a cooperative to ensure fair prices and you will also be able to purchase spices.

Day 5 - Kandy

After breakfast, you'll be taking part in a city tour of Kandy – the last kingdom where you'll be visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic. This remarkable temple houses the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. If you and your spouse love nature and greenery, you may visit the Royal Botanical Gardens. If you're not too tired, at approx. 1700 hours you can witness a cultural dance show in Kandy town.

Temple of the Tooth Relic - The Sri Dalada Maligawa or The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a temple in the city of Kandy in Sri Lanka. The Maligawa was once the royal palace inhabited by the king and his consorts, but after the demise of the Kandyan Kingdom the palace was transformed into a Buddhist temple that holds Buddha’s tooth.

Day 6 - Hatton

By 1215 hours board the First Class train to Hatton. Witness the beautiful scenery of the lush green tea estates, breathtaking waterfalls and magnificent mountains on your way. After reaching Hatton, enjoy your evening sipping on some of the finest Ceylon Tea.

Hatton - Providing cool relief from the heat of the plains, the mornings are usually veiled in a mist that slowly dissipates to reveal the curious pyramidal bulk of Adam’s Peak to the southwest. Hatton has beautiful tea-clad landscapes for you to marvel at from atop a hill or to admire as you pass serenely through on foot or by bike.

Day 7 - Tea Plantation Matale

After breakfast, enjoy an amazing sightseeing tour together with a visit to a Tea Factory/ Plantation where you could experience tea plucking firsthand. Conclude this visit with a warm cup of fresh Ceylon tea. Head back to your hotel or enjoy the superb spectacle of the verdant hills with a short walk at your leisure.

Overnight in Hatton.

Tea Plantation - See workers in the tea fields and sample the fruits of their labor on a visit to a local tea factory. Visiting Hatton tea plantations in the hill country will be like stepping into a time machine. It will immediately take you back to the Colonial times when the hill country was decked with neatly pruned tea bushes and well organised plantations.

Day 8 - Galle

Head over to the South of Sri Lanka, Galle, after breakfast. Galle is a wonderful destination with a great beach and the iconic Galle Fort. Spend the rest of your day unwinding on the soft sandy Galle beach while listening to the sea singing before you proceed to dinner.

Overnight in Galle.

Galle Beach -  There are  two lovely spots to sit and sunbathe in relative privacy at Light house beach down a handful of steps or by the main working Lighthouse in fort or lady sea baths. When you are done with exploring all the attractions, go to the beaches for refreshing and rejuvenating your soul.

Day 9 - Galle Fort Tour

Conduct a city tour, after breakfast, visiting the Galle Fort which was built in 1588 by the Portuguese. The Fort is a very popular destination of tourists and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This colonial town is also home to many quirky boutiques and stylish cafes that are definitely worth a visit.

End the day by the beach.

Galle Fort - The Galle fort is a world heritage site and the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers. A perfect combination of beach and culture, Galle has it all. UNESCO named Galle Fort World Heritage, so the beauty of the building is being preserved.

Lighthouse - The Galle Lighthouse, or Pointe de Galle Light as it was also known, was the very first light station to be built in Sri Lanka. It is built seven meters above the road on the ramparts.

Day 10 - Negombo & Departure

Today is the last day of your 10 days tour, after breakfast, you will be driven to the airport in time to catch your flight back home. Negombo is an ideal place to enjoy the traditional fishing methods of Sri Lanka. Recreational sports such as Diving and surfing are famous among tourists.
